![]() The enduring popularity of the Bow is a testament to its elegant design, but this simple weapon would be of little worth without the surpassing skill of those who master it - the archers. In time, their impassioned songs came to hold sway over the hearts of men, inspiring their comrades to great feats and granting peace unto those who lay upon the precipice of death. Few know, however, that bards in fact trace their origins back to the bowmen of eld, who sang in the heat of battle to fortify the spirits of their companions. But I do think that it wasn't as bad as you think it may have been.T he word "bard" ordinarily puts folk in mind of those itinerant minstrels, fair of voice and nimble of finger, who earn their coin performing in taverns and the halls of great lords. In any case it's fine that you enjoy how bard currently is, not everyone enjoyed how the proc system was. Bozja is mostly boss fights to begin with, and you'll be dotting the boss anyway. The change to dots not procing your songs in hoh/potd varies, as in some cases you would have been able to dot multiple things, making it objectively better than what we have now, but in some cases creatures would just burn too quickly for it to matter much. You still end a song prematurely in your rotation to move onto your burst phase, and so on and so forth. It does now, but otherwise the rotation has been untouched. The rotation felt off because bard's buff window didn't align with the standard 120 buff window. It feels awful to play without Caustic/Stormbite. The songs being too short is a fine complaint to have, I wish they had added a fourth song frankly instead of extending them, but that's just me.ĭots procing the song effects isn't an issue, again, you didn't reach the point where the proc chance is doubled for both dots. (And reduced troubadour cd, wow!) Otherwise, their utility is the same. The only additional utility they have now is that they get a damage up aoe at level 90. Their abilities have hardly changed from the transition from ShB to EW. You're going to be missing things from your kit and it's going to feel awkward. (Oh, and the change to sidewinder isn't really neat to me, either of course lol)Ī class will always feel weird to play unless it's at its max level variant. I'm really hoping that in time they revert this, because I'm not really satisfied with the passive generation of repertoire myself. I really feel like they -need- to interact with bard's rotation in some way other than just being there for damage. ![]() They're free damage, but that's not really engaging in any sort of way. I'm not really sure why they decided to keep dots on bard and remove them from other classes, but remove their functionality all together. Losing out on double procs in general feels not fantastic, eitherīut most importantly, the role of dots in general just mean nothing. Obtain a mass amount of procs in trash pulls, even if we have a more "complex" (if you want to call it that.) aoe rotation it still feels kind of awful lol If anything, I feel like this change really took away a key element to bard's gameplay all together, and oversimplified the system. It's a little nice, admittedly, to generate repertoire without having to rely on dots in combat but really it only changes the first few seconds of an engagement, as you should always have your dots on an enemy.
